We think it’s time for a member spotlight, this is our long standing member Tim and we could not be more proud of him.
Tim has been a member at Boulder CrossFit for almost 4 years and he has had quite the journey. If you have the opportunity to talk to him about how far he has come, his story is nothing short of inspiring.
Some movements and skills that Tim has worked really hard on have been double unders (which now he crushes), his Olympic weight lifting (his form and depth are are both exceptional), and his gymnastics movements both on the rig and even getting upside down and on his hands.
Recently, Tim has made it his goal to get his first Bar Muscle Up and he is CLOSE!! On Monday, before the workout, he had some really solid attempts and almost got his first rep without bands! During the workout Nate, Tim opted to try banded Bar Muscle Ups and he wants making it look easy with just two red bands! We are still working on the timing and mechanics of the Bar Muscle up, but if you are asking us, Tim might only be weeks away from securing his next big gymnastics skill.
We are proud of you Tim, you are absolutely crushing it and you are inspiring so many along the way! Today we have bands, but we cannot wait to check in when Tim gets his first unassisted BMU!!!
Alright guys! Last week I challenged myself to do as many bingos as I could and I made progress on checking off six bingos last week. I had so much fun getting in the gym and taking on some new challenges. My highlight was definitely working on crossovers, you can watch my attempts at the end of the video…I have some work to do! It was really refreshing to have some new goals to work on and get after it.
I know some of you are close to getting bingo or maybe working on your second bingo so let this inspire you, you can make a lot of progress in a week! 💪🙌🏻

Another great week here at Boulder CrossFit! We have been seeing the Front squat combined with broad jumps or high box jumps and we are so proud of our athletes for getting after these movements. It’s not just about lifting heavy or moving fast, it’s about moving well.
At Boulder CrossFit, we don’t chase PRs at the cost of form. We’re coached to move with intention, power, and purpose whether it’s dialing in a pause front squat or hitting clean reps under fatigue. We create athletes that move well, stay safe, and lift with purpose!

Our Low Back Seminar with Dr. Ian Nay this past Saturday was a huge success. This is our third seminar led by Ian and I think it’s safe to say these are a hit.
As CrossFitters it is very important to know exercises and stretches we can be doing to strengthen our bodies, avoid injury, and recover from injuries when and if they do occur. It’s important to move well and train smart so we can feel good doing what we love!

Hey Boulder CrossFit! It’s officially summer! Did you read our June Newsletter because we have a lot of fun things planned for summer! We know you all fun summer plans but we want to make sure we all stay active so we don’t fall out of our gym routine we spent all winter building. First we have the Committed club!
The Committed Club will start by running through June, July and August and there is only one way to join the Committed Club, and that is to attend 18 classes a month, roughly 4-5 classes a week. This will come at no additional cost to members, the only price is you showing up daily.
A great goal is to try to be a part of the Committed Crew at least once this summer, but for those who are a part of the Committed Crew all three months, will be rewarded with a sweet Committed Club T-Shirt and other prizes that will be drawn at random monthly to those who continue to show up day in and day out.

First Conditioning Class of the season was a blast!
It was a fun, long burner with biking, running, towing, farmers carries, kettle bell swings and goblets squats and we were worked! Coach Hunor kept us pushing and everyone left feeling stoked to get our conditioning up before Memorial Day Murph, long summer hikes, bike ride and adventures ahead!
Join us for the next three Sundays while we continue to push our limits and prime the body for all the fun things to come!!
The energy in the gym today was unreal. Huge shoutout to everyone who came in and took on Amanda—no matter how you tackled it, that workout is a grind. It was awesome seeing so many wins: from stringing together kipping pull-ups, to hitting a ring muscle-up, or just getting on the rings for the first time. Everyone walked out a little better than they walked in, and that’s what it’s all about.

The Open means something different to each person who signs up. For some, it is an opportunity to test their fitness, for others it may be an anniversary of their commitment to their health or a way to connect deeper and celebrate each others’ efforts as a community.
No matter what your why is, one thing is certain: you won’t want to miss this!
The Open will take place from February 27th-March 17th. Every Thursday for three weeks, a workout will be released from CrossFit HQ and then we will all complete it over the following days.
You can complete the Open many ways including at Friday Night Lights, during all Friday classes, and there will be make up times on the following Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
The in house Open costs $30 for members to compete and that also includes our 2025 Open Shirt!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the month for January, Fernando!!
Fernando Joined the gym in 2021 when he moved to boulder. He was looking for a community oriented CrossFit gym and he found that with us at Boulder CrossFit!
Fernando originally started CrossFit because he was looking for a lower impact form of exercise after one-too-many injuries rock climbing.
Fernandos favorite lift is the Snatch and he loves it because of how technical it is and how the smallest technical changes can make the biggest difference. Fernandos least favorite movement is the burpee.
Fernando works as a professor of anthropology at CU Boulder and studies Neanderthal genetics. For fun Fernando enjoys reading science fiction, paint miniatures, and playing board games.
A quote Fernando finds inspiring is “There are no coincidences in this world, there is only the inevitable.”

Join us tomorrow, Monday the 11th, for the hero workout “Chad”
Chad is a long hero workout that consists of 1000 step ups to a 20 inch box and if you have a vest, the RX weight for men is 45 pounds and the womens RX weight is 35 pounds but if you don’t have a vest, come as you are, you can still complete the workout without a vest!
Why is the CrossFit Hero Workout, Chad, so Important? Chad is dedicated to Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson, who tragically took his own life on October 29, 2018, due to the toll of multiple deployments, TBIs, and PTSD. The aim of this workout is to honor Chad’s life and legacy and raise awareness for suicide prevention.
We hope to see you in class tomorrow! If you would like to go RX, please bring a ruck, weighted vest or a backpack that we can add weight too.

Congratulations to our November Athlete of the Month, Maeve!
Maeve used to be a noon regular but since she got her new job as a social worker, she has been a regular at the 6am class.
Maeve is incredibly kind, hard working and such a pleasure to have in class! She pushes herself and sets big goals, but she always remains positive and has a big smile on her face! Maeve is also very disciplined and remains consistent and this month, because of her discipline and consistency, she got her first strict pull-up!
Maeve is also signed up for our November Pull-Up challenge and we cannot wait to see her reping out big sets by the end of the month!

This Saturday the 19th, Giorgia will be hosting her second out of four pelvic Floor, Core and CrossFit classes and the focus will be on Lifting!
In this class, we’ll practice the most common strength exercises in the fitness world, such as kettlebells, squats, elastic band and we’ll learn how to incorporate our Pelvic Muscles during those movements. Once we master those movements we’ll start lifting. We’ll go from Front and Back Squat, Deadlift to advance to Snatches and more. Learning how to implement those movements not only will prevent our Pelvic floor and ABS from getting injured but will improve our performances. You’ll be impressed by how much stronger you are with the help of your Pelvic Muscles.

Coach Keaton is back!! We are so happy to be welcoming Keaton back to the Boulder CrossFit coaching staff!
Keaton moved to Denver in late August and he wasn’t sure if he would be able to make the commute work with his new schedule but we are so happy and honored that he is going to be making the drive up to coach on Tuesday Nights!

We had our first Beginner Slackline class a few weeks ago and it was a major hit! Everyone in attendance was able to take steps by the end of the class, and some of our athletes were even walking across the whole line!

We are going to be hosting the next class on Friday October 18th at 6:30PM, once again at Boulder CrossFit. Free for members, $20 drop-in for anyone else! Slacklining builds on itself, so if you were able to walk across the line last time, expect to learn something new!

Our goal with the lecture is to give our members more information on how they can best optimize their nutrition for their performance and physique goals. This will be the first of many ongoing lectures so make sure you get a good foundation by attending our first lecture!
Our goal with the end of year nutrition challenge is to end the year stronger, faster and healthier then we began the year. We often hear people make promises to themselves and others that they will alter their nutrition, diet and exercise routine come the new year, but why not start now? We have less then 100 days in the year but that is plenty of time to develop good habits that we can take into the new year.

Pelvic Floor, Core and CrossFit with Giorgia is coming up this Saturday the 21st at 10:15am and registration is open on Wodify! Here is more information if you are interested and we cannot wait to see you there!
Empower your lifting, gymnastic, and cardio skills by learning how to engage your pelvic muscles and core while working out.
The workshop is a progressive course divided into four classes of 75 minutes each that will lead you to become Pelvic Floor empowered.
You’ll not only expand your knowledge about this part of your body, but you’ll also become conscious of what to do during your workouts and daily life. It will help you to get stronger and more aware of your full body’s abilities, incorporating Pelvic Muscles and Core support in every exercise.

Today’s Saturday WOD was a Mount Sanitas Summit and it could not have been more fun! Our community showed up and brought their friends, family and many animals! We had almost as many dogs (and one cat) as we had people!

Andrew has been with us for about 4 months and his progress both in and out of the gym has been amazing to hear about and watch!
A quick moment to brag about Andrew. As a coach, seeing Andrew walk through the BCF doors is always a treat. Andrew has very light and fun energy, he is hard working and he doesn’t take himself too seriously. He is here to grow, make friends and have fun. Andrew has also had some big, new accomplishments. Prior to CrossFit, Andrew could not do a forward fold and touch his toes and now he can do it confidently every time! Andrew can also do a full wall walk going chest to wall and We even saw him attempting freestanding handstand holds last week!
It is awesome watching Andrew grow and challenge himself and we cannot wait to see all that he accomplishes with us here at Boulder CrossFit! Congratulation Andrew, we are all so proud of you!

Saturday WOD: Move Heavy Stuff For Time- Extra points for making it look easy🤩💪🏼
If you haven’t done a Saturday WOD at Boulder CrossFit yet, you need too! Three things are guaranteed,
1. It will be a partner workout
2. You will get fitter

Today we played a warmup game inspired by the Physical 100, did a partner wod that consisted of bench press, synchro toes to bar, partner wall balls and tire flips, and then we ended class with a burn out of max tired flips with a partner in 1 minute.
